By adding an email account to your smartphone, you can easily send emails and photos, receive newsletters, promotional offers and invoices when you are on the go or do not have access to a computer. Emails are also a great alternative for the environment, and most email accounts are completely free.
The first time you start your new Doro smartphone you will be asked to create a Gmail account. Gmail is a free email service from Google that connects you to an array of features on your smartphone (Google Calendar, Contacts, and Apps). You can use Gmail as your primary email address. If you already have an email address from another provider, and you would like to continue to use that account to send and receive emails, you're welcome to use that account on your new Doro smartphone. However, a Gmail account is required to access some features, e.g. to download apps to your phone. If you do not have a Gmail account, you can create one here.
If you already have an email account from another provider (Telia, Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.), you can also add these accounts to your Doro smartphone. Go to the respective email provider's website and you will usually find clear instructions detailing how to add their email account to your smartphone. This is usually a link called "configure email with Android."
Unfortunately, email accounts may become vulnerable to spam, that is, junk email from companies and individuals who send these messages for commercial purpose. One way to manage junk emails is to mark them as spam so that you will not see them in your inbox. It is also important that you never open emails from an unknown sender. These emails can contain viruses and spyware that will harm your mobile, computer, or may even access your private information, e.g. passwords and account information. If you keep the above recommendations in mind, you can surf with peace of mind, and enjoy the convenience of having your email account on your mobile phone.
